In the 2016-2017 CREATURE CRAZE Challenge, over 68,000 children will dive into the wonders of the animal kingdom. Teams will explore and research animals and their habitats, learn about simple machines as they build a model made of LEGO® elements with motorized parts, and create a team Show Me Poster to represent their findings. What will you learn about our furry, feathered, and finned friends?
What is FIRST® LEGO® League Jr.?
Guided by adult Coaches and FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. Core Values, students work with LEGO® elements and motorized parts to build ideas and concepts and present them for review.
The program focuses on building interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through a real-world challenge – to be solved by research, critical thinking, and imagination.
FIRST LEGO League Jr. Core Values
We ask that everyone associated with every FIRST LEGO League Jr. team understands and honors these Core Values.
- We are a team.
- We do the work. Our Coaches and Mentors help us learn, but we find the answers ourselves.
- We share our experiences and discoveries with others.
- We are helpful, kind, and show respect when we work, play, and share. We call this Gracious Professionalism®.
- We are all winners.
- We have FUN!
Teams are scheduled to meet first and third Fridays (January – May). Refreshments (pizza) will be provided!
